Welfare Committee (WelCo)
A closely-knit team, the Welfare Committee (WelCo) aims to serve the school with all sincerity in heart and dedication, by implementing effective and feasible welfare initiatives and ensuring that the needs of the student population are addressed and well taken care of. Adopting an objective stand, the committee serves as a bridge of communication between the school administration and student population; To provide a listening ear to students and to voice their desires to the school, and to explain the school’s stand and rationale to the students. Through this link, the Welfare Committee hopes to establish understanding and achieve transparency between both entities. In essence, the committee strives to create a more conducive environment, to make the Hwa Chong experience more comfortable and memorable for both staff and students alike. Because in WelCo, “Your Welfare is our Affair”.
WelCo Chairperson / Jaslyn Koh
YO! Jaslyn here. She’s your typical Hwachie… except slightly more high when with serious friends, and slightly more focused when with super enthusiastic friends. Some friends think she is cool, others find her really nice, or some think her jokes are just lame (when their puns are even worse).
Secretary / Carlene Lay
Beneath the seemingly unfriendly expression on her face, Carlene is an individual likened to the warm morning rays of sunshine – exuding comfort and love to everyone. She will always lend a listening ear if you need, and be the pillar of support you can lene on through Council :-)
Treasurer / Sean Lai
His official name is Lai Yuen Sheng, but many know him as Sean Lai. There are many things that he likes – sports (badminton, soccer, basketball), music, photography etc. He has this Chinese quote that he loves – 怕，你就输了一辈子

Hello! I am Shengbin from 16S72. My friends think of me as a dependable, wise guy and come to me for advice. But actually, I am sometimes a young boy at heart too :D
Welfare Coordinator / Huang Si Teng
This creature in front of you is Siteng. It is an elusive creature with eccentric habits. Though it seems shy and introverted at first, if you approach slowly and gently, it will be extremely friendly, dynamic and will answer to all your needs. (The creature is entertaining at times.)

Though his name sounds like “rou song” (dried meat floss), he is inedible. Songyuan is a dedicated, passionate and generous young man who is willing to serve his school and fellow mates whole-heartedly. If you still don’t know him, please feel free to approach him and get a conversation started.

Most think Kai Jie is a playful guy who only does things for the fun of it. However, he is spontaneous, lively and does everything for a passion. Beneath his enthusiasm, he is sensitive and pays close attention to his friends’ feelings and would do anything to see them well.

Do not be fooled by his trustworthy and serious face. Conrad is somebody whom you would associate with fun. He creates moments of fun where you would not want to forget. You will enjoy being in his company, I promise you!
