Our group name is “FAres”, pronounced as “fairies”. This name encapsulates the following key elements:

1)    We are from Ares, the God of War. After we fought through war games and Post Orientation Party (POP) together, we have very strong faculty pride. Ares is a very resilient and strong God, which is what we aspire to be. This is our unique identity, and who we are proud to be.

2)    If elected, we are also clear that as councillors, we represent and serve the entire school population. This is why the letter “F” in front of our name stands for “Four facs one hwachong”, as we serve to unify the whole school as one Hwa Chong. “F” also comes before “Ares”, because 先有国才有家 (the nation comes before family).

3)    We are a group of three girls. Just like how fairies grant other people’s wishes, even though we cannot satisfy everybody, we will listen carefully to what our fellow students want and try our best to fulfil their wishes.
